ABC Coin is a privately owned company founded in 1979. The company began by selling and servicing portable coin counters, typically used by the vending and car wash industry. Today they not only sell and service a full line of coin and currency equipment, but also manufacture specific products for the markets they serve. ABC Coin is the largest independent distributor of Lobby Coin Counters in the U.S. They support the largest installation base of Lobby Coin Counters in the U.S.
The Challenge:
ABC Coin is the largest independent distributor of Lobby Coin Counters in the U.S. Today they not only sell and service a full line of coin and currency equipment, but also manufacture specific products for the markets they serve. They support the largest installation base of Lobby Coin Counters in the U.S. A home-grown ASP.NET application, called SMC, manages daily operations, service orders and technicians. The development firm responsible for SMC was leaving the market, and SMC needed updates and general maintenance. Field service workers needed functionality at the customer site to facilitate their work.

The Solution:
B3 Software took over development of SMC, fixing a laundry list of issues that had been accumulated over time with the previous development firm. Along the way, SMC was made to be more easily maintainable and workflows were enhanced to the end-users specifications. B3 was able to work with the existing code base of the application where appropriate. Most importantly, ABC needed a relationship with a developer that was responsive and reliable.
The solution was integrated inside of Microsoft Dynamics 365, migrating the total solution into the cloud and creating a seamless experience for users in different company departments. A mobile app was created for iPhone and Android to help field technicians organize work on site as well as get customer signatures for work approvals.
